Applications Available for 2018 U.S. Men’s Assistants and Support Staff

BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse and head coach John Danowski are seeking assistant coach and support staff applicants for the 2018 U.S. Men’s National Team.

The staff will include three assistant coaches, a general manager, assistant general manager, equipment manager and videographer. The U.S. men’s nation team coaching staff is primarily responsible for the selection, training, coaching, and leadership of Team USA in preparation for the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship in Manchester, England.

Assistant coach applicants must have significant competitive lacrosse coaching experience at the collegiate and/or professional level, and a demonstrated record of success on the field as a coach and mentor to athletes. The general manager, assistant general manager, equipment manager and videographer should have proven administrative experience managing efforts on behalf of a lacrosse team or program. Applicants should have experience with and be supportive of US Lacrosse and the U.S. National Teams program, and should demonstrate a willingness to promote and grow the program.

Danowski, a three-time NCAA champion coach at Duke University, was named head coach of the 2018 U.S. Men’s National Team on Monday.

The U.S. men’s national team has amassed a 59-4 all-time record in international play, claiming gold at nine World Championships (1967, 1974, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010).

Applications are due to Tony Leko, US Lacrosse director of national teams, by Thursday, Dec. 3. Chosen candidates will be notified no later than Friday, Dec. 18.
